LOUISVILLE — Flyaway Books has officially released its latest children’s book, “Hiding Baby Moses,” by Judith L. Roth and illustrator Melanie Cataldo.

This lyrical retelling of the Old Testament story of baby Moses being hidden from Pharaoh, told from the perspective of his protective older sister, captures the special bond shared between siblings. The words of Judith L. Roth convey family intimacy while the beautiful artwork of illustrator Melanie Cataldo reveals a sense of an ancient time and place.

Publishers Weekly gave “Hiding Baby Moses” a glowing review, saying, “Confiding text and tender drawings distinguish this version of the story of Moses in Exodus. … The transcendent power of loving relationships remains at the heart of this retelling.”

The book is available in a jacketed hardback format. It is ideal for children ages 3-7 and the retail price is $18. An author’s note that further explains the biblical story, as well as lyrics and notation to an original song that can be used as a source of comfort during troubled times, are included.

“Hiding Baby Moses” is now available for purchase where books are sold.
